2. Guest speakers
a. Joan Kraft & Elizabeth Hackbarth, American Cancer Society (ACS)
b. Reviewed “Relay for Life” fundraiser taking place at the Richfield High School
August 2nd – 3rd, an overnight walking event.
c. HRC provided groups and ideas to help ACS get the word out in order to support
the event
3. Reports:
a. Chair Report
i. Commissioners voted unanimously to remove Lall Ram from
RHRC after following steps outlined in By-Laws.
b. Treasurer Report
i. No report this month
c. Commissioner Reports
i. David and Deborah continue to contact schools in an effort to
recruit youth Commissioners.
ii. One Voice Training – Debbie and Sean attended One Voice
Training, a program designed to identify how welcoming
communities are in order to determine key human rights issues.
Also attended by Eden Prairie and Edina HRCs.
iii. Jeff attended League of MN HRC meeting in February; accepted
a position with the League. Nancy also part of LMHRC.

4. Old Business
a. Annual meeting with City Council being planned for June
b. Discussion of Next Events
i. Gene & Mary Jacobsen Award
ii. Invite One Voice to speak at May RHRC meeting, invite EP &
Edina HRC members to attend with us.
c. Next meeting is May 7, 2013
