Chair Report (Nancy Roberts)
a. Reimbursement of RHRC banner and Gene & Mary Jacobson Award sign
in amount of $80.46 and $57.54 respectively
b. Motion passed to reimburse Nancy from RHRC account for both the
banner and the sign
c. Motion passed to seek RHRC account reimbursement from Richfield City
Council
Commissioner Reports
i. Parent Conversation Meetings (Sean Hayford Oleary, Deborah Eng)
a. Meeting held in Spanish to accommodate majority language, with
translation to English
b. Low turnout, one parent and four school liaison personnel
c. Thoughts regarding themes: Latino parents feel disconnected with
schools, Latino parents want to talk to teachers about their students,
parents do not like receiving word via phone recording that their student
missed class(es).
d. RHRC members would like to continue community meetings
ii. Housing Tenant/Landlord Clinic
a. Low attendance, about eight renter families
b. Those that attended seemed to receive good information/help with their
personal situation
c. RHRC members would like to find a way to increase participation
iii. Treasurer: $312.75

8) Looking Ahead
i. Strategy session to establish a “Turn-Out” plan, with goal of increasing
awareness of RHRC events and increasing attendance
ii. Meeting to take place as a Special Human Rights Session, Tuesday, November
19th at 6:30 PM at the Ruth Johnson Room at the Community Center
