a. MIRA (Modulo de Informacion, Recursos y Apoyo)
b. Speakers: Jackie Montero, Rosa Rubio, Kim Houle
i. Services provided to the community – information and resources,
parenting skills, health and nutrition, ESL, youth programs, legal help
ii. Supporters of MIRA – Richfield Public Schools, City of Richfield,
Richfield Rotary, BCBS Do-Town, House of Prayer Lutheran Church,
individual and private donors
iii. New programs targeting summer 2013 – financial education and tax
preparation; sewing program moving into job placement skills and self-
sustaining work
iv. Working on – nutrition education, continue ESL, technology, citizenship
program, increasing hours of operation, being sustainable in Richfield

a. Tentatively planned for August 24th from 1-4 PM

i. Sean, Debbie & Todd discussed dates for One Voice Community
meeting.
a. Pushing back to July
b. Will include MIRA
i. Translation
ii. Promote and encourage attendance
iii. MIRA would like information in Spanish and Somali
c. Will provide free daycare
ii. Jeff reported on Unity in the Community May 16th from 5:00 – 7:30 pm
a. Went well, good turn-out
b. Kids had fun
c. Fabulous dancers: Aztec, Square, Russian, Vietnamese
iii. Gene & Mary Jacobsen Award
a. Four excellent nominations received
b. Voting confirmed Phuoc Thi Minh Tran this year’s winner
c. Phouc Tran has been notified and is able to accept award during
the June 25th Council Meeting

a. No official July meeting, although Sean and Debbie may coordinate those assisting with
the One Voice Project
