Willard Stevens, Gene and Mary Jacobsen Award recipient for 2010, rode in the 4 of July parade. The
original car he was to ride in broke down and Molly Darsow successfully scrambled to find a replacement.
Molly attended a meeting in June of the chairs of each City commission. She shared the progress of the
current RHRC. She also discussed a concern that the City commissions lacks representation of the
various diverse groups living in Richfield.

ITEM #6 NEW BUSINESS:
Molly presented a draft of the proposed Richfield Domestic Partner Ordinance. Anthony will write a
Purpose Statement. The RHRC is scheduled to approach the City Council on August 9 at a study
session.
The commission is going to start forming alliances with other local Human Rights Commissions. It will
be helpful to learn from these groups.
Anthony discussed talking with several of the MIRA school liaisons. They will be invited to the
September RHRC meeting.
The RHRC will participate in The Peace, Power, & Unity Conference to be held in Richfield on

October 16 at the Intermediate School. We will have a booth.
