The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm

ITEM #5 OLD BUSINESS/REPORTS
1) Anthony Bradford is new Treasurer, has not received financial statements from previous
treasurer. Will receive them at next HRC meeting.
2) John spoke at the Lutheran Prince of Peace, Martin Luther King celebration

Happenings:
City council – Pat Elliot introduced himself to the Commission.
School –Peter Toensing not present
City – Todd Sandell reported that he is becoming acclimated to the Commission.
RCHSPC – Anthony reported that the next meeting will be held the following week.
ITEM #6 NEW BUSINESS:
1. John announced that no new members were appointed to the commission.
2. John reported on the strategic Planning meeting held on January 10, 2009.
They discussed goals for the upcoming year, including working with other lead agencies.
3. Anthony discussed discouragement with his previous year’s accomplishments on the
commission. He felt he had not made a significant impact on the community.
This became an open discussion about how we can encourage participation on the commission
from the various cultures represented in Richfield. Todd discussed his experiences on the Joint Police
Community Project. He articulated that gaining the trust of various groups will take time. Pat
discussed his commitment to involving and representing everyone in the community.
