1. Meeting was called to order by President Easterwood.
2. The Roll was called. Easterwood pointed out that the terms of Sandahl and Stokes expire in February
2008. Easterwood noted that If Sandahl and Stokes wish to apply for another term, they should get in
touch with the court.
3. After some discussion, the members present decided to act as a committee of the whole for purposes
of selecting a slate of candidates for elections for Charter Commission officers for 2008. The slate of
candidates must be published to the commission members 20 or more days in advance of the annual
meeting to be held on the second Tuesday or January as required by the By Laws.
4. The members present selected the following slate of Candidates for officers:
President: Martin Kirsch
Vice President: Michael Sandahl
Secretary: William Bullock
5. Member Jensen posed questions concerning the minutes of the commission. Specifically, should there
be minutes for every meeting and should members receive copies of such. Easterwood responded
that the answer to both questions is “yes.” Member Ulmer noted that there may not have been
minutes for some of the most recent minutes in as much as little business was transacted. Jensen
indicated that she had no record of receiving minutes during her tenure on the commission.
Easterwood suggested that she consult her commission notebook for the date of the last minutes
contained therein, then inquire of the Charter Commission contact at City Hall to determine whether
there are minutes on record that she lacks.
6. Member Jensen also asked about access to a current roster. She was referred to the website for the
City of Richfield.
7. President Easterwood noted that in the absence of the Commission secretary, he would prepare
minutes along with an announcement for the next meeting. These would be sent in the mail in early
December.
Meeting adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
John L. Easterwood
