MINUTES FOR THE •
RICHFIELD CHARTER COMMISSION MEETING
JANUARY 14, 1992,.7:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order by. President Doebler at 7:10 p.m.
PRESENT: Doebler, Johnson, Kennedy, Lindberg, Little, Louis,
Norquist, Palm, Ticen, Tjornhom, Severe and Starleaf.
ABSENT: Larson and Peterson.
The Nominating Committee's recommendation of officers for 1992
were. presented: President: Ticen. Vice President: Starleaf.
Secretary: Norquist. The nominees were unanimously approved.
The Commission reviewed the changes recommended by the
subcommittee, particularly sections 2.03, 2.05, 2.06 and 4.03.
The revisions were generally approved, but-the Charter Commission
wanted an opportunity to examine and comment on the proposed
revisions prior to their submission to the City Council.
Of particular importance was a sentence added to paragraph 3 of
2.05: "Such special election shall be called at the same Council
meeting the vacancy is determined to exist, by Council .action or
. by death, resignation, or failure to qualify." Doebler will .
prepare revision and mail to~Commission.
Section 5.02 has changed from. $200 to $400.
In Section 5.07, the words, "at least two" were inserted between
the words "for" and "public."
There being no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30
p.m.
