Richfield Charter Commission ~~ ~~
January 12, 1999
Call To Order: Vice President of the Richfield Charter Commission, Joe Novak,
called the members to order at 7:29 PM, on Tuesday, January 12 in the Heredia
Room of the Richfield City Hall.
Roll Call: Present: Joe Novak, Amy Krauss, Dorothy Holstrom, Gloria
Gordon, Gordon Herrboldt, Annette Margarit, Jane Hendrickson, Gertrude
Ulrich, Jan Anderson
Absent: Winthrop Zocher, Shirley Johnson, Russell Kennedy, Edward Thom,
Gordon Anderson
Minutes: Minutes of the February 17, 1998 meeting were approved as
mailed.
Report of Officers: There was no report of officers
Committee Report: The nominating committee presented nominations for the Charter
Commission officers for the 1999 term.. The nominations were as follows:
Amy Krauss for President
Joe Novak for Vice President
Jan Anderson for Secretary
All three were elected unanimously to their positions.
Communications: Joe Novak reported that Shirley Johnson had sent a letter to Richfield City
Attorney Corrine Thompson to question the sales of revenue bonds to fund the
proposed ice arena. Thompson's response was discussed and determined to be
appropriate in regards to the Richfield Charter.
Unfinished Business: None
New Business: Discussion of current and upcoming openings on the Richfield Charter
Commission. Ron Glaub no longer resides in t]ie city and terms are expiring for
Shirley Johnson and Russell Kennedy'at the end of February. Previous
applications were presented and Amy Krauss offered to contact these pervious
applicants to see if there is still an interest. All members were encouraged to
recruit applicants and it was determined a press release should be issued if
necessary.
Adjournment: At 8:01 PM a motion was made, seconded and passed to adjourn.
