Subject: Acquisition of Property at 6444 22nd Avenue
At the April 14, 1975 city council meeting the city council considered a
recommendation fpr the. purchase of property at 6444 22nd Avenue. for park
purposes. The purpose for acquiring this. property would be to add ahis parcel
to the small 'New Fordtown neighborhood.: park. A copy of council letter No.
108 submitted at that meeting is attached.
The city council deferred action on the recommendation to acquire this
property and asked that the staff discuss. the acquisition with representatives
of the neighborhood around New. Fordtown -Park. Such a meeting is tentatively
scheduled for Friday, ,June 6, .1975 and a report of the results of this meeting.
will be made at the 'council meeting Monday night.
".The owner of the property has requested that the city make a decision one
way or another at the June 9, 1975 city council meeting so that if the city does
not"'acquire this parcel he can pursue other possibilities.
