Subject: Housing Program Activities and Future
Housing Assistance for the Elderly
The Housing and Redevelopment Authority was established in
1974. Two issues provided an impetus for its organization: the
need of the low income and elderly for housing assistance and
the deteriorating conditions within the prime commercial area of
Richfield - the L/H/N.
Attached to this HRA letter are two reports which deal with
housing. The first report details the Richfield Housing Program
elderly and non-elderly homeowners and renters. The housing
program goals for each year are identified. A description of
each program is presented. Finally, the number of program units
and dollars expended are included in chart form. Future activities
are also presented.

Subject: Designation of Officia]_ Depository
Attached to this HRA letter is a resolution naming Summit
State Bank of Richfield as the official depositary for the Rich-
field Housing and Redevelopment Authority far the year 1980. Summit
State Bank is pledging collateral i.n the amounts of $9G0,000. Tl,e.
city will continue to use this depository in the same manner as in
the past year. In addition to this collateral pledge, HRA funds
are protected by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporat>.on in the
amount of $100,000.
