Agenda June 16, 1986 The Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council City of Richfield Subject: Continuation and Reconvening of 1986 Board of Review Council Members: On June 2, 1986 the Board of Review met to hear appeals for. 1986. The principal property appraiser .from Hennepin County read into the record a number of written appeals which were filed with the Board. In addition, the Board heard a portion of an in- person appeal by Dr. Rennecke of 7533 Sheridan Avenue. The sudden illness of appellant Or. Rennecke, which occurred during that Board of Review session, resulted in an early adjournment of the Board to be convened at a later date. This evening's session of the Board of Review is to make a determination on Or. Rennecke's property appeal and also to hear a possible appeal from Gary P. and Janice M. Sorrell who have indicated a desire to appear in front of the 1986 Board of Review to contest the non-homestead classification of the property at 7235 Bloomington Avenue. Jan ice Gapp, now Borrell, purchased the property and moved into the property in Jul 1985. Donna Isaacson moved. in at the- same time and a second room- . Y~ mate, Kathy Watt moved in approximately two months later. The home had three bedrooms and both roommates were told that Janice would occupy the home until early January and at that time the third bedroom would be j vacant. Janice and I were married on the 23rd of November, 1985 and returned from our honeymoon on December 8th. Janice worked the next two weekends and • with the holidays we did not-move her into my home until January 10th. This included moving her bed, lamps, etc. and the majority of her clothing. Until moving out on January 10th the utilities were in Janice's name and paid by Janice. Also, her mail continued to go to the 7235 address. We feel that Janice maintained her primary residence at 7235 Bloomington Avenue South until leaving on January 10th. This saune information was con- . veyed to Mrs. Thompson in her phone calls with Janice and I. This is an accurate summary. of the events that transpired in regard to the homestead application.
