Subject: Special HRA Meeting March 6, 1884 7:30 P.M. Regarding Proposed
Market Plaza Development on the Godfather Block
Dear Commissioners:
The purpose of this special meeting will be to provide the Housing and
Redevelopment Authority with an update on the Market Plaza project proposal for
the Godfather Block.
Initially, the developers will describe their proposal and how it fits into
the L/H/N redevelopment plan. They will specifically discuss the siting of~
buildings, the number of residential units and the unit mix, the parking and
circulation system that they are proposing and provide a brief overview of the
project. as a whole.
Then the staff will discuss the developer's agreement, the scheduling of
project elements as well as a summarization of the financial package. The City
Attorney will also be available and will discuss project related legal issues.
The. staff will also discuss unresolved issues that have surfaced as a
result of the initial submissions by the developer. .Following this HRA
---- ---------Commissioners reactions to the proposal will be sought. If the proposal is
acceptable to the members of the HRA, project concept approval would be
appropriate at that time. If concept approval is obtained, the developer would
then move to the next step in the process and would prepare more detailed
plans.

the development agreement and the expected time of conveyance of
all of the property to the developer which in turn is dependent
upon the developer. providing financial commitments and construction
contracts.
A meeting between John Dean. of the attorney's office, and Mr.
Derrick's representatives was to be held on Friday, Febru ary 3,
1984. The HRA attorney and the Executive Director may, as a result
of the Friday meeting, be able to provide a further update to the
HRA.
