Issue Statement:
Reconvening of the 1989 Board of Review.
Background:
On May 1, 1989 the 1989 Board of Review was continued to
5:00 p.m. May 8, 1989. The continuance was to provide staff an
opportunity to prepare additional information on four appeals
presented on the evening of May 1. The Board directed applicants
whose cases were continued to provide background data relevant to
their appeal to the Appraiser on Tuesday morning. Some of that
information has been received as late as Thursday morning. Thus,
Mr. Miller will have a very difficult time providing background
data to Board Members prior to Monday evening.
Recommended Motion:
Reconvene the Board of Review at 5:00 p.m. and take action based
on the information presented at the hearing.
Basis of Recommendation:
1. Reconvening of the Board has been scheduled publicly at the
May 1 meeting.
2. Information needed for the Board to make a determination on
the remaining appeals will be available at or prior to the
hearing.
3. The Hoard of Review must conclude its business within 20 days
of May 1, 1989.
Alternative Recommendation:
None
Discussion/Decision Mode:
It would be desirable to conclude the proceedings of the Board of
Review on May 8, 1989.
