HRA Letter No. 6
Agenda February 20, 1990
Issue Statement:
Partial payment ?in the amount of $19,557 to Lino Lakes Nursery
for ILN Streetscape.
Background:
On August 21, 1989, the HRA awarded the ILN Streetscape contract
to Lino Lakes Nursery in the amount of $37,785. Because of tree
deletions from 143 to 121 and some change in the variety of trees
planted, the contract cost has been decreased to $35,950.
Recommended Action:
Adopt a motion authorizing staff to make a partial payment of
$19,557 under the contract.
Basis of Recommendation:
1. The conditions of the contract have been substantially met
in all areas except along Lyndale Avenue.
2. The concrete planters along Lyndale Avenue were installed
in reverse from the contract requirement. (Reinstallation
is scheduled for the spring).
• 3. The recommended payment excludes money for all Lyndale
Avenue work.
Alternative Recommendation:
1. Deny any payment.
2. Change the recommended payment.
Discussion/Decision Mode:
It is appropriate to pay the contractor for a portion of the work
as he has incurred expenses.
