Issue Statement:
Continuation of?consideration and discussion of 1993 revised/1994
proposed budget and 1994 property tax levy.
Background:
On September 1 and September 8, 1993, City staff began the process
of presenting the budget to the City Council for consideration and
discussion. The materials could not be covered with the time
provided on those dates so a continuation of the meeting has been
scheduled for October 13, 1993 at 7 p.m. As with the previous
meetings, the October 13 meeting will be televised.
As part of the 1993 Revised/1994 Proposed budget, City staff will
present information on the following items for discussion:
? Human Services position
? Liquor Enterprise operation
? Water and Sanitary Sewer rates
? Fees for services
? Pay Plans
On September 13, 1993, the City Council adopted a preliminary
property tax levy payable in 1994 of $7,348,600 and approved
• December 1 and December 8, 1993 for Truth in Taxation public
hearings. As Council Members are aware, at these public hearings
the tax levy may be reduced from the preliminary tax levy, but not
increased.
Recommended Motion:
Review the 1993 Revised/1994 Proposed budget and related issues
with City Council.
Basis of Recommendation:
1. The October 13 Special Council meeting
setting to discuss the proposed budget
