05-24 Resolution No. 11362 RESOLUTION NO. 11362 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AN UPDATED AMENDED POST EMPLOYMENT HEALTH CARE SAVINGS PLAN FOR MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES WHEREAS, Laws of Minnesota 2001, chapter 352.98, authorizes the Minnesota State Retirement System (MSRS) to offer a Post Employment Health Care Savings Plan (Plan) program to state employees, as well as, other governmental subdivisions, and WHEREAS, the Internal Revenue Service Code provides for such Plans, and WHEREAS, the City of Richfield currently offers such a Plan to eligible City employees as a tax free method for employees to set aside money to cover the ever increasing costs of health insurance and medical costs after termination of public employment, and WHEREAS, such plans must be established by employee group, either through a collective bargaining agreement for union employees or a personnel policy for employees not covered by a collective bargaining agreement, and WHEREAS, modification to the provisions of an established Plan for the Management employee group have been agreed to by the Management employee group and the City of Richfield, and WHEREAS, the proposed plan is a net savings to the City of Richfield and a benefit to the individual employees covered by the plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Richfield hereby authorizes the City Manager to amend the Health Care Savings Plan for the Management group of employees in the City of Richfield.
