The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kirsch at 5:30 p.m.

Housing and Redevelopment Manager Nordquist stated tonight's Worksession offers an
opportunity to discuss a future vision for the area surrounding the 66th Street and Portland Avenue
intersection. There is currently a moratorium in place to prevent drastic changes in land use in the
future while the intersection is being evaluated.

Mr. Nordquist introduced Carolyn Krall, Landform, and she led discussion as the land use
consultant. A portion of the consultant funding is provided by Hennepin County.
Ms. Krall discussed:
. the planning - design team members
. overview of planning process and schedule
. shaping a vision for the future
. community planning tools
. identified community goals and planning criteria
. open house boards
Ms. Krall reviewed maps depicting land use and zoning as well as a map of the
Comprehensive Plan for context. Graphics were on display that were first used at the February 9
open house that introduced land use challenges and opportunities to the neighborhood.
Council Member Kilian asked about the intersection being a traffic corner or a destination
corner. He said it's a transportation corner.
Mr. Nordquist stated another open house will be held in approximately four to six weeks.
The meeting was adjourned by unanimous consent at 6:40 p.m.
