Public information meeting on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Best
Buy Campus project. A
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
No action is being requested at this time. The Council is present at
the meeting to hear comments from the public on the DEIS.
III. BACKGROUND
The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Best Buy Campus project
was released on August 21, 2000. The comment period on the document runs from
August 22 through September 28.
A public information meeting is required for the DEIS. Staff will make a presentation
on the DEIS and the public will be given an opportunity to provide verbal comments
on the document. Responses to the comments will not be given at the meeting but
will be provided in writing in the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS).
III. BASIS OF RECOMMENDATION
A. POLICY

• The DEIS contains important information on the impacts of the Best
Buy project and any measures needed to mitigate those impacts.
B. CRITICAL ISSUES
• The public meeting provides an opportunity for the public to comment
on the DEIS. Written comments can also be submitted through
September 28. The comments will assist the Council in assessing
the adequacy of the EIS.
• Responses to all comments will be provided in the FEIS.
