RESOLUTION NO. 8129
APPROVAL OF CONSTRUCTION PLANS FOR PROVISION OF
AN INTERIM HIGH OCCUPANCY VEHICLE LANE IN RICHFIELD
ON I-35W FROM I-494 TO 76th STREET
WHEREAS the Commissioner of the Department of Transportation has
prepared: plans, special provisions, and specifications for the
improvement of Trunk Highway Number 394 renumbered as Trunk Highway
No. 35W within the corporate limits of the City of Richfield, from
the So. Corp. limits to 660 feet north of West 76th Street in
Richfield; and seeks the approval thereof; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said plans, special
provisions, and specifications for the improvement of said Trunk.
Highway within the corporate limits of the City, be and hereby are
approved including the elevations and grades as shown and consent is
hereby given to any and all changes in grade occasioned by said
construction.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City, however, urges that plans
be prepared to extend the interim third lane to 46th Street in
Minneapolis. These plans are needed as a more effective solution to
avoid traffic bottlenecks in Richfield, to resolve potential traffic
diversion to local streets in Richfield and to complete a logical
route for transit service from Burnsville to downtown Minneapolis.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota,
this 11th day of April, 1994.
