08-10089r RESOLUTION NO.1 0089 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF RICHFIELD TO SUBMIT NON- MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION PILOT PROGRAM GRANT APPLICATIONS TO TRANSIT FOR LIVABLE COMMUNITIES WHEREAS, the City of Richfield seeks to promote biking, walking and transit as alternatives to the use of single-occupant automobile travel; and WHEREAS, the Non-Motorized Transportation Pilot Program is intended to encourage innovative ways to promote alternatives to automobile travel; and WHEREAS, the City of Richfield has identified two opportunities to use federal Non-Motorized Transportation Pilot Program funds in a creative manner. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota, as follows: The Mayor and City Manager are authorized to submit two applications for federal Non-Motorized Transportation Pilot Program funds in 2008. They are: the Richfield Parkway Stage 2 Pedestrian/Bikeway Trail; and, the Oliver Avenue Bike Street Trail.
