95-8299r 72 RESOLUTION NO. 8299 RESOLUTION APPOINTING A REPRESENTATIVE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO THE RICHFIELD TOURISM PROMOTION BOARD, INC. WHEREAS, the City of Richfield has levied a 3% tax on the gross receipts of lodging from hotels and motels in the City pursuant to Minnesota Statute Section 169.190; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute Section 169.190 authorizes the proceeds of the tax to fund a Tourism Promotion Board for the purpose of marketing and promoting the City as a tourist or convention center; and WHEREAS, the articles and bylaws of the Richfield Tourism Promotion . Board provide the City Council of the City of Richfield appoint three (3) directors to the board representing the Hampton Inn, Motel 6 and the Richfield Chamber of Commerce; and .. WHEREAS, each director shall serve as a director until his or her successor has been appointed and has qualified, or until his or her earlier disqualification, death, resignation, or removal; and WHEREAS, the term of William Brusman, the representative for Hampton Inn, expires on December 31,1995 and Mr. Brusman desires to be reappointed to the board. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota, that the Richfield Tourism Promotion Board directors be modified as follows: 1. Reappoint William Brusman, Hampton Inn, to the Richfield Tourism Promotion Board for a three year term ending December 31, 1998.
