RESOLUTION POSTING NO TRUCKS SIGNS ON PENN AVENUE AND
76TH STREET TO PROHIBIT TRUCKS FROM USING 76TH STREET FROM
SHERIDAN AVENUE TO XERXES AVENUE
WHEREAS, the section of 76th Street from Sheridan Avenue to Xerxes
Avenue has been found to' be structurally substandard;
WHEREAS, 76th Street from Sheridan Avenue to Xerxes Avenue has a
rough surface and narrow outside lanes that generate substantial noise and
vibration; and,
WHEREAS, the posting of signs on both Penn Avenue north and south of
its intersection with 76th Street, and on 76th Street near Penn Avenue will
provide adequate advanced warning to trucks to avoid using the section of 76th
Street from Sheridan Avenue to Xerxes Avenue.
BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager is directed to post No Trucks
signs in suitable locations on Penn Avenue and on 76th Street to prohibit trucks
from using 76th Street from Sheridan Avenue to Xerxes Avenue.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that when the aforementioned signs have
been so erected on said streets, they shall be official traffic control signs of the
City of Richfield and failure to observe them shall constitute a violation of the
Traffic Ordinance of the City.
