97-8523r 98 RESOLUTION NO. 8523 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING USE OF PROCEEDS FROM SALE OF LAMPERT LUMBER SITE AT 300 WEST 78TH STREET FOR NEW CITY GARAGE FACILITY ON PORTLAND AVENUE WHEREAS, on November 12, 1992, the City purchased the former Lampert Lumber Site located at 300 West 78th Street, legally described as: The West 239 feet of the East 330 feet of the Southeast 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4, Section 34, Township 28, Range 24, except part taken for State Highway respectively (the "Property"); and WHEREAS, Section 13.04 of the City Charter addresses Sale of Real Property; and WHEREAS, the revenue source used to purchase the Property was the City's Capital Projects Fund and no debt was incurred for the purchase of the Property; and WHEREAS, the Property was used as a Public Works Garage facility; and WHEREAS, none of the Public Works Garage facilities have debt; and WHEREAS, the City has approved the sale of the Property in accordance with a transitory ordinance; and WHEREAS, the Council may by resolution designate a public use for proceeds received for the sale of the Property. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that proceeds from the sale of the Property will be used as revenue to help pay for the construction of the new City Garage facility to be located on Portland Avenue.
