RESOLUTION NO. 8491
RESOLUTION OF THE RICHFIELD CITY COUNCIL AMENDING THE
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN WITH RESPECT TO THE INCLUSION OF REQUIRED
NOTIFICATION LANGUAGE IN THE AVIATION SECTION
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Comprehensive Plan with respect
to the need for notification language relating to construction near the airport; and
WHEREAS, the Plan that was submitted to the Metropolitan Council was missing
language required by state statute that states that the Commissioner of the Minnesota
Department of Transportation will be notified when construction or alterations over 200
feet in height within a certain distance of the airport is going to occur; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has approved the update of the City's
Comprehensive Plan subject to inclusion of the required language; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission conducted a public hearing concerning
amending the Comprehensive Plan on July 22, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has conducted a public hearing concerning
amending the Comprehensive Plan on August 25, 1997.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Richfield City Council amend
the Comprehensive Plan to include the notification language required by state statute
pursuant to Attachment "A" attached hereto.
Adopted by the City Council of Richfield, Minnesota this 25th day of August,
1997.
