RESOLUTION NO. 8944
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SUCH
AGREEMENTS NECESSARY TO OBTAIN A $5 MILLION GRANT FROM THE
MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRADE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has authorized a grant of $5 million to be used
to purchase residential properties (hereinafter referred to as "project") affected by low
frequency noise in the City of Richfield; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richfield must apply to the Department of Trade and
Economic Development for said grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Richfield act as legal
sponsor for the project contained in the Redevelopment Grant Program to be submitted on
October 1, 2000 and that Samantha Orduno, City Manager, is hereby authorized to apply
to the Department of Trade and Economic Development for funding of this project on
behalf of the City of Richfield.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sources and amounts of local match
identified in the application are committed to the project identified.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Richfield has not violated any
Federal, State or local laws pertaining to fraud, bribery graft, kickbacks, collusion, conflict
of interest or other unlawful or corrupt practice.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Samantha Orduno, City Manager, is hereby
authorized to execute such agreements as are necessary to implement the project on
behalf of the applicant.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota this 25th day of
September, 2000.
