2007-17 BILL NO. 2007-17 AMENDMENTS TO SECTIONS 310.33, 310.43 AND 310.51 OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF RICHFIELD THE CITY OF RICHFIELD DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. Subsection 310.33, Vacation Leave, Subdivision 1 of the ordinance code of the City of Richfield entitled, "Eligibility," is hereby amended as follows: Subd. 1, Eliqibility. Regular employees and full-time employees shall be eligible for vacation leave upon accrual. except that no employec be allo'A'ed vacation leave until after completion of six months of employment. Section 2. Subsection 310.43, Terminations, Subdivision 1 of the ordinance code of the City of Richfield entitled, "Resignation," is hereby amended as follows: Subd. 1, Resiqnation. An employee wishing to leave the municipal service in good standing shall file with the employee's supervisor or department head, at least 14 days before leaving, a written resignation stating the effective date of the resignation and the reason for leaving. Failure to comply with this procedure may be considered cause for denying such employee future employment by the city aM denying terminal vacation benefits. Unauthorized absence from work for a period of three or more working days may be considered by a department head as a resignation without benefits. Section 3. Subsection 310.51, Political Activity, Subdivision 2 of the ordinance code of the City of Richfield entitled "Candidacy: leave of absence," is hereby amended as follows: Subd. 2. Candidacy: leave of absence. An employee who becomes a candidate for elective public office shall automatically receive a leave of absence without pay and shall perform no duties connected with the position until no longer a candidate. However, if the needs of the municipal service requirc, the vacancy crcatcd by the absence may be filled and the employee's service terminated.
