RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CITY'S CONTRIBUTION TOWARDS HEALTH AND
DENTAL INSURANCE PREMIUMS AND SALARY INCREASE FOR EMPLOYEES
COVERED BY THE INTERNATIONAL UNION OF OPERATING ENGINEERS LOCAL 49
WHEREAS, the City of Richfield and International Union of Operating Engineers Local
49 signed a bargaining agreement covering a two year period from January 1, 2013 through
December 31, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the labor agreement covers all terms and conditions of employment
including the City contribution for health insurance benefits and salary schedule; and
WHEREAS, Article 36 of the labor agreement provides for either party to amend the
provisions in Article 26, Insurance and Article 31, Wages; and
WHEREAS, the City has historically provided the same salary increase and level of
health insurance contribution to all eligible City employees, both union and non-union; and
WHEREAS, the City Ordinance requires that contracts between the City and the
exclusive representative of the employees in an appropriate bargaining unit shall be
completed by Council resolution.
WHEREAS, the City Council is required to determine, by resolution, the City's
contribution toward the premium for employee group insurance coverage and salary
increases.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City shall contribute a maximum of
$669.50 per month for employee only health insurance coverage, $990 per month for
employee plus spouse or employee plus child(ren) health insurance coverage, and $1,040
per month for family health insurance. Such contributions shall be for coverage effective
January 1, 2014; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City shall contribute a maximum of$52.50 per
month for employee single dental insurance. Such contribution shall be for coverage
effective January 1, 2014; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City shall implement a salary schedule,
effective the first full pay period of January 2014, which provides a 2.25% increase in wages.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota this 28th day of
January 2014.
