13-10841r RESOLUTION NO. 10841 RESOLUTION APPROVING SUMMARY PUBLICATION OF BILL NO. 2013-21 WHEREAS, the City has adopted the above referenced ordinance; and WHEREAS, the verbatim text of the ordinance is cumbersome, and the expense of publication of the complete text is not justified; and WHEREAS, the following summary clearly informs the public of the intent and effect of the ordinance. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield that the following summary is hereby approved for official publication: SUMMARY PUBLICATION BILL NO. 2013-21 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 925 OF THE CITY CODE BY ADDING A NEW SUBSECTION RELATING TO LAWN MAINTENANCE; ALLOWING MAINTAINED MEADOW/PRAIRIE VEGETATION; AND DECLARING NOXIOUS WEEDS AND INADEQUATELY MAINTAINED VEGETATION TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE On September 24, 2013, the Richfield City Council adopted an ordinance designated as Bill No. 2013-21, the title of which is stated above. This summary of the ordinance is published pursuant to Section 3.12 of the Richfield City Charter. The purpose of the ordinance is to allow for a variety of landscaping in the city, including more non-traditional types of landscaping such as prairie or meadow vegetation. The ordinance provides maintenance standards and requirements for transitioning to this non-traditional type of landscaping and declares noxious weeds and inadequately maintained vegetation to be a public nuisance. Copies of the ordinance are available for public inspection in the office of the City Clerk during normal business hours or upon request by calling 612-861-9760 of the Community Development Division. ` r Nancy Gib: ity Clerk BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is directed to keep a copy of the ordinance in her office at City Hall for public inspection and to post a full copy of the ordinance in a public place in the City for a period of two weeks.
