RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF RICHFIELD TO ENTER INTO A
TRAILWAY COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE THREE RIVERS PARK
DISTRICT FOR THE NINE MILE CREEK REGIONAL TRAIL
WHEREAS, the Three Rivers Park District is a political subdivision of the State of
Minnesota authorized by statute to acquire, establish, operate and maintain trails
systems; and
WHEREAS, the Three Rivers Park District's First Tier Trials, Greenways, and
Parks Master Plan includes Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail through the City of Richfield;
and
WHEREAS, the Three Rivers Park District is preparing a specific master plan for
Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail in cooperation with the City of Richfield, and
WHEREAS, the City has requested that the Three Rivers Park District participate
in the development of a regional trail system located within the City, and
WHEREAS, the City owns land suitable for development as a regional trail
corridor; and
WHEREAS, the Three Rivers Park District and City desire to cooperate to
design, construct, reconstruct, operate and maintain a regional trail corridor located in
the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Richfield enter into a
Trailway Cooperative Agreement with the Three Rivers Park District to provide payment
for the construction of the Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail within the City and to establish
agreement on the design, construction, operation, maintenance, and enforcement of the
trail.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota this 25th day of
September, 2012.
