RESOLUTION SUPPORTING RICHFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOLS
OPERATING LEVY REFERENDUM
WHEREAS, State funding is not keeping pace with students needs in
Richfield Public Schools; and
WHEREAS. a successful passage of the operating levy referendum will
bring about smaller class sizes by avoiding more layoffs, adjust recent increased
athletic fees, protect existing educational programs and services from cuts; and
WHEREAS, a successful passage of the operating levy referendum will
keep the Richfield school system the desirable one that residents have grown to
expect; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is open to and supportive of all avenues of
cooperation and collaboration with the Richfield schools; and
WHEREAS, the City Council understands the necessity of a strong school
system in order to attract and keep families thereby assuring the future of our
community.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Richfield City Council
supports the November 5, 2002 Operating Levy Referendum for Richfield School
District 280.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Richfield, Minnesota this 22nd
day of October, 2002.
