RESOLUTION NO. 9324
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF STATE OF MINNESOTA AGENCY
AGREEMENT NO. 84213 BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND
THE CITY OF RICHFIELD FOR FEDERAL PARTICIPATION IN CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, The City of Richfield is proposing to use federal funds for the construction,
improvement, or enhancement of transportation projects; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richfield has worked since 1989 to reconstruct the 77th Street
corridor. That project has included reconstructing 77th Street, 76th Street, Penn Avenue, the 1-
35W oft-ramp at 76th Street and the Humboldt Avenue storm sewer. The next phases of the
project include the Lyndale Avenue Bridge consisting of Lyndale Avenue from 79th Street to
77th Street and the 7600 block of Lyndale Avenue, and the 77th Street Underpass of Highway
77 from 17th Avenue to Longfellow Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Richfield
that pursuant to Minnesota Stat. Sec. 161.36, the Commissioner of Transportation be
appointed as Agent of the City of Richfield to accept as its agent, federal aid funds which may
be made available for eligible transportation related projects.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield that the Mayor
and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City of Richfield
to execute and enter into an agreement with the Commissioner of Transportation prescribing
the terms and conditions of said federal aid participation as set forth and contained in
"Minnesota Department of Transportation Agency Agreement No. 84213," a copy of which said
agreement was before the City Council and which is made a part hereof by reference.
