12-10620r RESOLUTION NO. 10620 RESOLUTION ALLOWING A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE RICHFIELD DEPT. OF PUBLIC SAFETY/POLICE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY AND THE MN BUREAU OF CRIMINAL APPREHENSION FOR ACCESS TO THE MINNESOTA CRIMINAL JUSTICE DATA COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK (CJDN) WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota through its Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) is empowered through state statutes to engage in such an agreement; and, WHEREAS, the BCA must provide access to a Criminal Justice Data Communications network to benefit criminal justice agencies in Minnesota; and, WHEREAS, the BCA makes this access available to Richfield and the City's prosecution attorney through direct access, indirect access and computer-to-computer system interface. WHEREAS, through this agreement access by the City Attorney is available for five years, beginning with the data that BCA obtains all required signatures under Minn. Stat. §16C.05, subdivision 2. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richfield that permission is granted to Richfield Police, to approve the agreement by the signing of the document by the City Attorney, Martin Costello, or his designee to approve and sign this and any documents relating to this agreement.
